Some background on Pukka Software   January 18, 2006

Pukka Software is a small sofware company based in San Francisco founded by me, Brian Ghidinelli. I previously founded and sold an internet consultancy and went on to lead teams building user experiences for big-name web brands like Yahoo, Macromedia (Adobe) and Autodesk. On the weekends, I am a BMWCCA and SCCA high performance driving instructor and club racer. Starting Pukka Software was my way of combining my professional expertise with my personal passion.

With a small company come different types of advantages and disadvantages. We have limited resources but less beaucracy. We have incredible passion but small budgets. We are always pushing to get more from less.

That’s the connection between our company and our customers. Our customers are almost universally volunteers who donate their spare time to organizing driving and social events. Most have day jobs and so they are constantly battling to find the time needed to do the job right.

Less time spent, more participation and satisfied members. These are the things that our customers tell us they care about. Whether they are autobahn-loving track junkies, cone-dodging autocross warriors or someone who just likes to get together and look at their favorite cars and bikes, our mission is to make these people heroes.

MotorsportReg.com started 4 years ago as an in-house system for a local car club. Within a month, no lightbulbs were necessary; it was obvious that other organizers would also benefit from eliminating paper registration forms and reducing the time spent with spreadsheets.

Thousands of hours of engineering and design work later and we are making heroes out of organizers everywhere. They’re having more fun and so are their members.
